Tesla Model 3 Performance

Tesla Model 3 Performance Workstation / Car Desk

I wanted a non-permanent but secure solution to use a laptop in the car while traveling.  Most of the mounts that are available have to be bolted to the floor which requires the removal of the front seat.  This mains it difficult to allow passengers to sit in the front seat.  The best solution I found was the AutoExec RoadMaster Car.  While AutoExec makes other workstations / car desks, due to the screen in the center of the Model 3, I didn’t want anything to swing around accidentally and damage the screen.  I customized the Natural Birch finish to match the woodgrain accents that are in the Model 3 Performance.

Ownership Update: 2023 Model 3 Performance – 2 Years 30,000 Miles

Maybe this will help others that are in the market for one.

Satisfied with my purchase (1-10)?
– 8.5

Reasons for rating:
– My favorite daily driver and fun car out of 29+ cars/motorcycles owned (including 9s cars and motorcycles)

What I don’t like the most:
– Depreciation
– The fact that I have to wait a year before my battery warranty expires to determine if the cost of replacement batteries are cheap enough to justify keeping the car
– Absolutely hate the duck lips front bumper design

Would I buy again?
– Yes, I would buy a later year model of the current generation if buying new
– Not sure if I would buy the first model year of a new generation

Issues so far:
– Spoiler (replaced under warranty)
– Speaker static noise (fixed under warranty)
– Thin paint on side skirts

Don’t buy one if:
– You have to have others’ approval of your car
– You enjoy driving up and talking with random ICE guys about their builds – they think you are an “EV” guy so you know nothing about modifying “real” cars
– You can’t find a decent deal on a used one
– You don’t want to take the depreciation hit on a new one

Buy one if you want to:
– Own a hassle free low to mid 11 second 1/4 mile car (11.3s best so far)
– Stop paying a lot of money for routine maintenance
– Listen to a decent audio system
– Launch from 0 to 60 mph whenever it’s safe to do so, and belly laugh because it’s too easy to own a car this quick
– Get 100 “mpg”
– Have enough space for 3 adults (2 front, 1 back comfortably) and cargo in the trunk
